VIDEO SL AUDIO BITRATE CONVERSION CHALLENGE

I challenge anyone using Video SL to find a program that can convert VOB files, or even straight from DVD to mp4/ serato friendly video file formats with an audio bitrate of more than 192 AAC or 256 mp3.

At the moment I am using Mactheripper to extract VOB files and then converting them using Visual Hub. I love Visual Hub, really great to use, but just lasts better quality audio (you can enter in whatever amount you want, but it will come out at 128 aac)

I rip my VOBs to DV, import to Final Cut Pro, add high quality audio (usually 44.1 khz AIFF or wav) make any edits I have to with the video (or just plain make a video) Then export to Quicktime - .mov or mp4, H.264 codec, AAC audio setting lets you go up to 320 kbps and you usually get around that mark but it varies slightly, but usually over 300 at least.

sony vegas lets you export h.264/mp4 at 512k AAC although i export all of mine at 320k AAC.

I'm thinking of looking into bootcamp to try Sony Vegas (i'm strictly Mac), hearing loads of good things about it over FCP - mainly the real time rendering of effects and time stretch options.

Convert to .mov with waveform audio


You'll probably want to replace the audio anyway, while your at it make an intro. THEN, edit that baby up with a remix of audio AND video.
