A Q and A on the 57

Is the TTM 57SL the only mixer on the market to contain the SL1 interface?
Just wanted to know as I would like to sell my SL1 to a mate (due to my Tax return YAY) but the price tag here in Australia for the 57 is a wee bit steep 1,600-1,900 $(au)
Otherwise I'll keep the SL1---- On a completely selfish note, what mixer would you recommend that works well and is cost effective with the SL1 box, has a lot of the Midi functions and is more than halfway sweet?
Thanks in advance fellas/lasses

TTM 57 is the only mixer that contains the SL interface. If you price it out you'll see that it's pretty cost effective. If you were to buy a quality mixer, and FX unit and the SL1 you'd probably end up paying alot more money. And having everything in one unit is alot more convenient. I would still keep the SL1 though, because not every club will allow you to switch mixers

Yes, but it's not ideal and would only do it as a last resort no other choice situation... ssl-wiki.help.bootlegs.de

Other mixers i own have a VU meter for the master. I'm wondering how the meters work on the 57. as the dot on the top where the master for the song is, and the dots under is where that line is currently?
does that make sense?

maybe i shouldn't relate it to anything and just ask this...
what do the dots at the top represent, and what do the solid dots that continue up from the top.

From the manual...
The meter displays loudness with a solid string of lights, and how close you are to clipping with a moving dot.

interesting... I wouldnt have imagined that moving dot would represent clipping, i would have thought that it would be higher on the meter... but i guess that makes sense

The moving dot really is your peak level, it doesn't necessarily mean you're clipping (unless it hits the red of course), the solid lights are more like your average RMS volume, I think.
