TTM 57SL Needs more mic inputs

DJ Firoz 12:00 PM - 12 June, 2008
I really want to get into mixing Videos, I already have SSL with Pioneer Mixer.
I need advise, should I just get Pioneer DVD players or reinvest in a TTM 57SL which includes a built in interface. How much is the Video SSL software?
I need to have the ability to connect 2 or 3 mics during a event. TTM 57SL only supports 1 mic input.
Your advise is greatly appreciated.

Why not run a small Mackie mixer alongside the Rane for your mics?

Get a dual mono "Y" line splitter. Cost you 6$. Works perfectly.

Don't do this, a Y cable is for splitting outputs not combining inputs. Use the cable in this way will run this risk of damaging either your mixer, microphone or possibly both.

A small mixer is definitely the way to go you can run it into the Aux in.

Once you have the mixer the VSL software is $200.

You could just run the output of one of these into your aux in.

Thanks,
For the information.
Anyone mixing Video? If so what format are you using and how easy is it to get the videos.
I know this is another dicussion, but I'm really leaning on getting the TTM 57SL
and continue using my Denons.

That is interesting. I have had several mixers (all being some form of Rane mixer)and have never had a mic or mixer damaged. That Mackie is a good option which I have used also, but you could also get by with a behringer which like a 3rd of the cost.

I was looking at that one but he mentioned he needed 2-3 mic inputs. The mackie with the Rane input would be 3 inputs.

jus curious why would it damage your mixer if you only used on microphone at a time and im sure even if you used both there is a limiter so this exact thing couldnt happen??? maybe im wrong about the limiter but i am curious if only one mic is used at time.

Why not use a wireless mic setup that supports multiple mics? The receiver uses one output to the one input on the 57SL but supports receiving more than one channel on the receiver...
