Quick question about the footswitch and SL Effects

Quick question about the footswitch and SL Effects

Before I drop 50$ on a footswitch, can anyone tell me if I need to be on the group effects page to initiate effects, or once assigned the footswitch I can activate it anywhere, on any page? Trying to figure out if it's worth it. I guess if it didn't work it would still be worth it for loops.

Currently the footswitch is pretty rubbish.
You can only operate the effects from group 6
You can only assign the footswtich outside of group 6

This makes it fairly pointless except possibly for loops and you can use it for input reverse.

be tight if we can turn flex fx on and off with a footswitch after reassigning echo effect. if and when this can be done, then i'll get a switch.

I bought the Digitech foot switch wanting to do the same (control effects outside of group 6), doesnt work. Hopefully they can make a patch for it.
