How do I see my channel meter lights?

I couldn't seem to get my question answered from other discussions. I just a new 57 last night and I'm a little overwhelmed by all the controls but I love a challenge so I'm giving it a chance. The 1st question I have is how to get lights to show up on the channel meters. I play a song on either pgm 1 or 2 but I get no lights on my levels. I normally use a Pio 800 mixer and having the levels line up helps me keep my levels in order. I understand the 57 does this a bit different...
Does anybody have an easy way of explaining this?
Thanx a mill. J

I've got the gain turned up but I don't see the lights. I've tried turning the gain way up to no avail either. I've pushed the stereo house button and still no lights. I wonder wtf is going on...

are you at least getting the sound out of the channels? Maybe a ribbon cable came loose for the lights

Yes, I def. get sound out of both channels. I hope nothing came loose in there, although I'm sure it would be easy to re-attach a ribbon. I just don't like taking apart a 1K piece of new equipment, lol. I appreciate you guys lending your help on this.. I'll mess around with it some more when I get home. I'll just gig with the 800 until I get this dialed. It seems like it's going to be a really fun mixer, I think I'll keep it.. (if the friggin lights start workin!)

It's fine to remove the bottom plate that covers the faders, just remove the three fader knobs and the four screws and you can see if there is a loose cable. If not it sounds like your meter may be bust. I would take the mixer back to where you bought it and see if they will straight swap it for a new one.

Yeah, the cable that connects the LED's was completely missing from the mixer. I sent er back. Back to the good old Pioneer. Bumming though, because that Rane sounded way better than the 800. Fatter, fuller, and just straight up clean sound.

Yeah, completely missing. I sent it back and got a refund. I'm out of the country now, but will buy it again when I get back. If I get another dud I'm gonna lose it!

Damn, I just picked up a 57 and it looks like I've got the same problem. I'll have to "check under the hood" when I get home.

Alright, so I got home and checked under the top panel on my 57. Guess what? The channel meter lights are missing COMPLETELY. There are holes for the lights, but there's nothing under them. Anyone else have this experience? I'm trying to figure out if I got the super-rare, limited edition model (which I'll be able to sell for lots and lots of money on eBay) or if I just got the shaft. I'll be calling Rane on Monday.

Man that sucks Drew. I just sent mine back for a refund and then bought another one. My new one works just fine. I'm not sure what they are smokin up at Rane.

It's the super-rare AM-mode TTM 57SL. It prevents people from looking over my shoulder and seeing whether I'm clipping or not. I hate it when people do that. :-)
Really though, I took it back to GC and got a new one. I haven't plugged in the new one yet, but just looking at it, it looks like it has channel meter lights at least.
