hmmmm.... +1. I think there should be a password in the firmware or bios to enable the TTM57SL to work with The Scratch live Software, for security purposes.
Anyone agree?

they should put in one of those gps things that they put in cats and dogs as well. They are like the size of a grain of rice.
How gratifying would that be to be able to track the bastard that stole your shit down.
oh man...

I would say store the password in a text file somewhere on your personal computer or mac, or have it to where the ttm57sl is locked only to one computer, but that doesent really work out for the club.
RANE could also have a support service that has a password of their own, or something automatically generated from the factory onto the bios that will have a password that lets them enable the device if someone forgets their password and is locked out. That would also work in the users favor because, if one is stolen and they try to use it, RANE can ask that person for all the information regarding their ttm57sl, compare it to its registered owner, and possibly track down the person who stole it.
Or something along those lines.

What if you have a dj arriving with his macbook who is going to do a video set, and needs to use your 57?

You could get either home owner's or renter's insurance. That's what I did when my MBP and my PS3 was stolen (back when it first came out and really hard to find). That way, all you have to do is let your insurance handle it. It really saved me a lot of stress and worry and it's not too expensive either. Just something for everyone to consider...

Cool. Still sorry to hear that somebody got you. I couldn't even imagine how I'd feel if someone took mine. If there's one thing despise more than anything is a thief...
