I'm getting together my funds so I can buy my SSL and laptop.....just wondering if there is a program that I should use to transfer my music to MP3. Or should I wait until I get SSL......does it come with an MP3 ripping software?
Thanks,
DJ Allstar
P.S. I not concerned if the program is free or not!

i used to use musicmatch jukebox, it came with my laptop and did a pretty good job.
goldwave is an option (www.goldwave.com) it's pretty cheap and is also a very good audio editor.

SSL has no ripping functions within the software. I suggest using iTunes for your CD ripping. iTunes is free and (best of all) your iTunes library and playlists can be read directly from within the Scratch LIVE application.

I recommend www.exactaudiocopy.de EAC a.k.a exact audio copy, it can integrate mp3 encoding, it has secure copy functions etc.
A great program, free and very accurate. It can detect read errors etc.

I suggest iTunes. If you prefer the LAME codec you can D/L a plugin that allows you to import into iTunes using LAME. I don't have the link handy but it should be easy enough to find.

This is what I use (iTunes with the LAME plug-in, see: blacktree.com), LAME is just about the best encoder there is, as far as *sound quality* goes...
