im looking in at getting a ttm57---but my current laptop runs on vista......should i buy it or wait....yet again.....i hate vista

vista service pack 1 seems to be working well. heaps of updates :)

it will work , I prefer using XP for use with the VSL video plugin but vista runs with no probs with normal SSL.

I've installed SP1 for vista but not tried running SSL/VSL since...but heard good things...

There is no official go for Vista SP1, so I'd try to stay away.

Yea, I wouldn't run Serato with Vista. Vista running by itself with no other apps running will consume almost a gig of ram alone. XP uses around half of that so if you have a laptop running just Serato it would be better to with XP.

unless you are getting a 57 for video there is no issues.. if you want the video option there is few things you should check concerning your grapich card/driver

stay away from Vista!! I've had it and hated it, no matter what I did nothing helped, esp with the TTM57.

ive been running vista since ive got ssl....its fine now......do you use vista and a ttm57???? any problems.....besides the video????

i just dont want 2 drop $1100 on it and have 2 wait......im not lookin 2 use it with the video plug in yet......just for mixing

Should i downgrade to xp from vista im getting this weird cracklin noise from my serato in internal mode

i use XP rather than vista for both SSL & VSL as it runs better under XP.

I was playing around with vista the last few days trying to get better performance from it by tweaking it but will be sticking to XP for now.

I created a batch file to kill unrequired services as the hardware profile option isn't available in vista.
check here for details.... (but remember right click on the the batch file and "run as administrator" when running or it won't have permission to stop the services.)

think vista is fine for SSL but I was getting some dropouts on VSL with the buffer at 2 and freezes on the video output window.but hopefully the new VSL version that reduces CPU load will help this issue.

So if you are not going to run VSL , vista should be fine for both SL1 & TTm57.
but you do have the fall back plan of installing XP as a dual boot if you do get issues.
