had the same problem...i fixed it with some blue painters masking tape on the fader stem
i think the fader stem was designed shitty....small and fat stems that other fader knobs dont fit on
also dont like the new fader knobs all that much but im getting use to using them...im partial to fader knobs with a lil contour to them not fat blocky fader knobs

Tissue paper trick works, Steve you must of had a bad one. The Rane faders were designed to take a little more than other faders. Plastic will wear down just like anything else that is elastic, just use enough tissue paper to keep it firm and you should be fine. And yes you can get new fader caps from Rane for Cheap.
Also the stem is designed that way so you don't break it like the older alps faders. I also like the older caps better than the new blockier ones.

I believe you, but Like I said you must have had a bad (faulty) one and I understand why you feel the way you do. Steve trust me, when I say the faders are really really durable, more than anything else out right now. Just like anything else that's human made, you will have a lemon in there somewhere. On a majority, you should be well off.

ya, Steve Dub i also feel that the new rane 57 knobs are lousy in a way...there are thick and comes off easily...not like the old 56 and 57 1st version.. they are the same knobs thin and more durable.. unlike the newer ones.. i am grateful for all you guys help.. and i email them.. they are replacing me..thanks BRO Steve Dub...and rane..

Yeah all three of mine are real wiggly. Anyone know the best place (cheapest) to order them? Turntable lab is selling them for $6 and charging $9.50 for shipping which is bullshit because one stamp would do it - those knobs weigh next to nothing.

its strange, i had a loose fader knob from my TTM56S, and tried it on my 57 (latest model). It was snug and tight!
Call up Rane and see what they can do :)

Just tear off a piece of cellophane from one of your album covers. I have been doing that for years with my old Vestax 05 Pro. Works like a charm. Just got the TTM last week. It doesn't feel like a tank like my 13 year old vestax. Feels cheap, but definitely a good upgrade.

You don't have to use anything on your fader knob to make it tight again. Just simply call or email Rane and they will take care of you. Unlike Vestax customer support folks.
