new projector causing screentearing.

i just bought a new projector (i was barrowing one for a while) and now the output window has the vsync problem of sreen tearing. vsync is on and the videos don't do it when they're on my laptop output, only on the extended monitor. they weren't doing it before so i'm to believe it's the projector's settings. the projector screen res is 60.4 or something close. anybody know what settings it might be?

i was able to stop the screen tearing by increasing my extended monitor res from 800x600 to something higher (1200ishx700ish). no more tearing. thanks.
oh and it's an epson s5. it's pretty nice, now that its working right.
