Why are my 2 57sl's DIFFERENT!?

so, i just bought myself a second 57sl the other day, and recieved it to notice that it is somewhat different from my original one i purchased on the first release of them when they came out.
not only the obvious things, like the different fader knobs, and the different buttons on the serato control interface..
but what really alarms me, and makes me worried that i got jipped by buying an original release, is that this one IS SO MUCH HEAVIER! what did you add now that wasnt on the other one? what did you change internally?

I was gonna comment with something sarcastic, but I'm tired.
use the search box located on the right hand side.
short story: They updated a few things (buttons, fader caps) , but everything is pretty much the same. A few people prefer the OG ones. Like any other electronic item, things will get updated, you can play it safe and buy when the item is about to be discontinued than there won't be anymore updates. Too many people have the grass is greener on the other side or consumerism disease (myself included) and always need to get the newest version, even if it is almost unnoticeable. Enjoy both, they will service you well.

the original version has buttons that are inverted, like a bowl. the newer version has buttons that stick out more.

it's kinda hard to tell, but if you look closely you can see the difference between the buttons. the V2 buttons have a slightly smaller surface area.

oh word...they must've gone through several different "looks" during the proto stage. I seen the one with the grey knobs but that paint job was funky.

One likes boy 57's and the other likes girl 57's.
Sorry. I was bored and the servers glitch isn't helping. hahaha

You're going to find that in a month or so the buttons on your new ttm57 don't work very well.

You mean new? I doubt you will find any new ones in stock. If it is used ask the seller for a close up pic.

think he means if you are buying new you are very unlikely to get version 1 model as these where only made in fairly small numbers at the time of launch.
but if you are buying a used mixer it could have been bought near the launch and you would need pic's to check what version it is.

I would be happy to find another version 1. They feel like they are built better.

if rane is having all these problems with the buttons on the v2's why did they switch them in the first place, i have a v1 and i had no issues with the buttons and i had the mixer for close to 2 years
