Serato Video General Discussion

Talk about Serato Video and Video-SL.

Video Interface/Display movable?

DjXquizit 7:38 PM - 24 February, 2008
I was wondering if its possible to move the videos display from below the decks in SL to along the right or left side of the screen so that the videos are stacked vertically..

I'm wondering this because I wanted to be able to see the 57SL controls as well as the display for the videos..

I thought I saw it somewhere in a video or picture, but I can't find any info regarding how it would be changed..

Any help/insight would be much appreciated.. thanks.

I think I know what pic you are talking about. I remember seeing the screens stacked on the right hand side of the screen.

As for seeing the controls, if you are on the video portion you won't be able to see the 57 controls (I believe) because it is a different tab, ie video, hardware, import, prepare.

finally some one the same page with me
i think this would be a good idea to make the display video panel movable to the top or bottom what ever by just draging it. i mean some times its hard to see the library list with a a 15 inch screen display for a laptop.

what a trying to say is that it would make the serato more user friendly in terms of display if all the panels where adjustable or movable in any arrangment the user pleases

for example i would preffer the video panel up top the screen then followed by the left and right decks then the hardware panel and library list

this would be helpful on my 17" 1920x1200 screen.

The pic you are talking about was from one of the early prototypes when we were messing with ideas. In the end the current setup was chosen because it was nicely integrated with the SSL GUI and yes, worked at minimum screen resolutions.

I agree it would be cool to be able to customize it, especially with widescreen monitors but currently this isn't on the development radar (there is other cool stuff we'll do first ;-)

Thanks Nathan H.

I remember the prototype video of Sam. While I agree that customizing is the way to go, I kinda like it this way and well, let's work on some cool stuff first. :)

Cool stuff like what??

I know, I know you can't give away the "secrets," but how about a taste of what might be coming.

one think I'd like to see is,

for the video screens display to disappear when using the track scroll knob on the ttm57, like what the hardware panel does at the moment.

Yes, this was mentioned in the Public Beta area and has been added to Scratch LIVE 1.8.1 :-)

nice one Nathan ... wasn't such a big deal when I was using my 17inch laptop but now I've downgraded to a 15inch model there is very little space for the track lists below the video screens.
