Rockstar Energy Drink LaunchES

NEXT ON THE DECKS
DJ CONTEST and NATIONAL Tour
MARK RONSON TAPPED TO JUDGE

Los Angeles, CA November XX, 2005 -- Who says DJs are not ROCKSTARS? In a bold move to find the Rockstars of tomorrow, ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK has launched a nationwide search to select the country's best up-and-coming DJ with its inaugural ROCKSTAR "Next on the Decks" Contest. And who better to choose the one DJ worthy of ROCKSTAR status than Grammy Award winning producer, artist and DJ, MARK RONSON.

Here's how it works: Eligible men and women 21 and over send in a DJ mix on CD representing their style and chosen genre. The format is simple, "Dance Music." Whether it's Electronic, Disco, Hip Hop, Rock, Polka, Jazz, 80s or a mix of all of them, if it will rock a dance floor it might win a shot at the opening slot on the ROCKSTAR TOUR.

MARK RONSON will listen to the submissions and personally choose one DJ that he deems worthy to open for him in a showcase performance during the 21 st annual Winter Music Conference in Miami this March 2006. From there, ROCKSTAR will send the winner on the ROCKSTAR TOUR with Mark throughout April and May in eight major markets. Finally, the winner will receive a prize package of DJ equipment from STANTON and a new wardrobe courtesy of FILA.

This campaign follows on the success of ROCKSTAR'S 2004/2005 "BEATY AND THE BEATS" female DJ search and tour. "ROCKSTAR has always been a huge supporter of all forms of music and Next On The Decks hopes to solidify that commitment on the dance floor," says CEO Russ Weiner. "We're extremely lucky to be joined by Mark Ronson who's ability to mix genre's effortlessly and rock the house makes him perfectly suited to judge the first installment of this exciting contest."

Mark Ronson adds, "I'm honored to be chosen as the judge for Next On The Decks and look forward to being a part of this amazing opportunity for aspiring DJs."

ABOUT ROCKSTAR

Headquartered in Las Vegas, with satellite offices in Marin County, Los Angeles and New York, ROCKSTAR is the second best-selling energy drink in the U.S., outsold only by Red Bull. The company has achieved this swift penetration as an independently owned venture, creating the 16-oz. energy drink category in 2001 and expanding from Northern California into all 50 states, with plans to extend its distribution into the European Union, Canada, Mexico and Japan.

ABOUT MARK RONSON

Grammy Award winner, Mark Ronson made his name as one of New York most respected club DJs playing for the likes of P. Diddy, Jay-Z and Britney Spears. After producing Nikka Costa's "Everybody Got Their Something", Elektra Records signed Mark to a solo deal, releasing his critically acclaimed debut album "Here Comes The Fuzz." It was here that the talented producer showcased his uncanny ability to cross musical genres, working with the likes of Jack White, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Q-Tip and Mos Def. The album also spawned the worldwide hit single "Ooh Wee" featuring Ghostface and Nate Dogg. Having recently completed production work with Jamiraquai, Air, Jay-Z and Sean Paul his stock behind the boards has never been higher. Never one to stop broadening his horizons, Mark formed Allido Records in 2004 in a joint venture with J Records. Mark has his own solo album dropping in 2006 as well, this time on Perfecto/Thrive Records.

i wonder if they would object to someone using ssl, seeing as they're giving away fs2 as a prize? lol.

hah...i didnt even read the prizes b4 i posted it. i just red the rules tho and theres nothing about using ssl or fs to make your mix. hell, it doesn't even say it can't be multitracked either. mark ronson is all about multitracking his mixed CD's too, so im sure he'd understand. but if you win and go on tour, i wonder if you can use ssl at a stanton sponsored event.
