I have SL-video arriving tomorrow afternoon and I plan to use it in the final round of a DJ competition im in on Tuesday. The bar it's at the manager has allowed me to use his pull down screen and projector.
However I've never hooked this all up and was wondering if anyones been in a similar situation?
Will the projector take S-video most likely or DVI?
My Macbook Pro has a DVI output, but if thats what i have to run that will be very expensive getting one long enough to reach.
Also i'm in the process of pitching the bar to update its setup to let me run video throughout all their flatscreens. Problem is theres 4 different cable boxes for all of the TV's.
Is there a splitter for the input that would splice it up to 4x without significantly reducing quality?
I know I can probably find alot of these answers w/ alot of digging in different directions, however time is crucial and would really appreciate some advice if you've been in a similar circumstance.

Have you been playing with the Demo of SL-Video? If not I wouldnt suggest using it in a competition yet without making sure your encodings and everything else is gonna work properly.
Give me a list of everything the club has Video wise and how its wired and I'll give you a good solution for wiring it all up.

I've been playing with a couple videos on the demo. The quality won't be perfect but it worked w/ 2 of the 3 videos i tried without making any adjustments. I don't need a polished product, for where i'm doing this at, simply having it will be a huge statement in itself.
I'm getting the specs for the club tomorrow afternoon, i'll post them when I get it. All i know is I remember seeing 4-5 comcast cable boxes stacked on top of each other and certain boxes control certain flatscreens. Theres at least 12 Flatscreens in the bar itself. However hooking it up to the entire bar is something to be tackled later.
The most important part is winning this competition and setting this up to the projector they have. This would undoubtedly win the competition given I have seen both of the guys in action im up against and already have it almost locked up.

Not likely that the projector has a DVI in. More likely that it has VGA, S-video & composite video. Good thing for you that DVI->vga, DVI-video are both really cheap connectors when you have a macbook pro (mbp has all the fancy conversion built in, the adapters or simple and cheap)
