Split VOB files

A lot of DVD's i'm converting to h264 for video-sl with magic video converter for a couple of weeks now.

Some DVD's have say 16 songs, but contain only four *.VOB's.
So after the conversion to h264, i have four large *.MOV files containing 3 or 4 songs per *.mov.

I use Sony Vegas to trim these and render them again. So at the end i have 16 songs and sixteen *.mov files.
But converting/rendering twice into h264 is suffering the quality.

How to work around this 4 songs in one *.VOB problem? Is there software to split VOB's?
How do you guys work around this?

you need to choose the option that says split by chapters or by cell IDs.

if magic doesn't do it imtoo ripper will. select see all chapters, select rip to mov and boost the bitrate settings.

dude, you need a ripper. rip and split output files on chapters. you'll be much happier.

Thanks for the advice. I immidiately got ImToo ripper v4 and this app indeed seems to have it all.

But i can't get Imtoo converting into h264 with enough keyframes. I set a framerate of 25 or 29.97 frames a second (bitrate of 2500) and still get after 15minutes of converting a videosong containing only 18 keyframes in total, resulting in very sloppy video.

I used magic video converter. This does the job very well. For the same videosong i get 524 keyframe (avg: 12), which is perfect and Video-SL is very well handling this video.
But this app can not see chapters/titles of a DVD, only VOB files = Useless.

So back to ImToo ripper. All i need are the correct settings.
What settings are you using in ImToo?

framerate and keyframes are not the same thing.
To change the keyframes in ImTOO, open the expert section and change the GOP to the maximum number of frames you want.
