xone 92 VS djm 1000

212121 7:33 PM - 13 October, 2005
im going to start djing and im saving money to get a xone 92 ROTARY...
my question is, should i save some more (500 euros) and get a djm1000 instead of the xone 92?

both are great mixers, but if i get the djm1000 i will get the best mixer out there that just came out, i will have that mixer for years and no need to get a new one.

but maybe for me (someone that will use this at home) the xone 92 will do the job and i will save some money

i know that it works very nice with efx1000 and djv and the cdj, etc but i only use technics decks

in the future i will add cds or something else

i heard that it is the only mixer that will "play" audio dvd without losing quality or something like that

i only mix house/techno/electro, NO scratch! and im going to use serato scratch live with two technics, thats all.

thanks

One word, overkill.

If you are just starting out, geting simpler mixer, like a Rane TTM 54/56, Pioneer, DJM 300/500/600, or a A&H Xone 32/62. You will save money for music, EFX units, needles, ladies, etc...

For someone just using something at home/small parties to start, a smaller/more portable/simpler mixer would work great. No need to go all the way. Clubs use DJM 600/3000s,Rane TTMs, and Xone 62 (I've only seen one) in Minnesota here.

Save your money for other gear.

I have a 92 rotary. I have also had the opportunity to play with a 1000. While I like the giant kill knobs on the 1000 - I LOVE my 92 rotary and wouldnt trade it in for a 1000 - unless of course I was doing video stuff with the VDJs, but then I wouldnt be using SSL would I. LOL

The 92 is an amazing mixer and would last you a long long time. You would NOT be disappointed.

I also have a Xone:92 (Linear) and I have/had all those other mixers listed.(except the DJM1000) And this is the best mixer out there for your application and in terms of quality and sound.

I know some may think overkill and to get something more basic and simple....but I would also do what you are thinking....get what you really want/need now if you have the money and you wont have to spend more money later because you bought something you really did not want/need and was not up to par. You will start out at home but if you practice enough you wont stay there for very long and will be fully prepared to go out and start gig'n.

Allen and Heath beats up on Pioneers and takes their lunch money.

I spin also house/electro/techno. I´m now deejaying for 8 years and the xone 92 is by far the best mixer with that I worked. His great filters and 4 band eqs are absolute fabouls for that kind of music. But for the beginning take some basic stuff and try if deejaying is something for you or not.

I have a Xone 92 and I love it. Its a solid mixer and better then past Pioneer mixers. However the sound quality and quality of the DJM 1000 is on par with the 92. I will be selling my DJM 600 at some point to get the DJM 1000 to use with my DVJ-X1's and Edirol V-4. But I am keeping the xone..

Go with the Allen & Heath... Pioneer isn't known for making good, reliable mixers.
