I have been a serato user since 2004, and video sl since it came out. Both serato and vsl were installed on a macbook 2.2 ghz duo core. In the 2 years playing out at least twice a week, i have never had any issues.
I Just recently bought a new macbook pro 2.2ghz i7 16gb 1333mhz DDR3 with AMD Radeon HD 6750 Graphics card. All my mp3's & mp4's are stored on a 2tb Seagate 7200rpm.
I was stoked to upgrade to the latest versions of serato 2.4.1 and serato video. Until I started having problems. My first issue was with O/S I had to switch from Lion to Snow Leopard. Thinking the problem was solved I tested at home without any issues. Played this past friday with no problem, and then Saturday came. Video kept crashing multiple times. Fortunately Serato did not. I eventually had to disconnect my video feed.
I have removed my old scratch folder, and reloaded all my files. After reload I have noticed alot of corrupted mp4's (according to Serato program) I tested these corruptions in Mixemergency and they play with no issues.
I have now downloaded an older version of serato (2.2) and I am going to use mixemergency. I have been loyal to serato for many years because I have always felt they have been the leaders in digital dj/vj technology. After 2 stressful weeks of vjing, I will use serato for audio and mixemergency for video.

Try re-saveing the corupted files in mpegstremclip into a new mp4 container.
It fixes most of the problems with video that were not corupt in previous versions of sl
It seems alot of the issues have to do with the metadata tags and resaving wipes all the old tag info and such from the file and fixes the issue although you do lose all your previous saved cue/loops tag info

Don't look like my last message went through. Try changing permissions for everyone to read and write to you folder that contains the corrupt files.
Include sub folders too.
