itunes load time and limit??

Just got back from doing a basic 40th B-day party. But, today I moved all my music (8000 trax) to a new usb 2.0 250 GB Maxtor external drive. I used a 30 GB USB 1.0 before with no issues (5000 trax). Anyway, during the set the iTunes based trax failed(red x, file not found) within SL but worked through import just fine. I also noticed a seriously long load time because it was reading iTunes Library. My Question is this, has anyone seen or hit a limit with iTunes?? I imagine there has to be a point where there is a bottleneck like most apps. How many trax do you have out there without problems???

Are there known memory leak bugs that are being addressed to caused it to spaz out sometimes and stay active in processes???

The reason for not being able to find your tracks is that most likely your new harddrive has a different drive letter to your old harddrive. Windows has some service called "portable media serial number" so it can keep drives seperate.
Use the location column in SSL to see where it thinks the tracks are supposed to be and make sure your drive has the right letter, if it doesn't it can be changed in disk management in computer manager which is in administrative tools.

I don't think there is a limit on itunes library size, some people have been having problems with maxtor onetouch version 2 drives.

I've not heard of anybody having problems with memory leaks.

So far, I have over 20,000 tracks using iTunes and SSL version 1.4 and it loads in less than a minute. :) I created two crates in SSL just to keep a few things in there and those load up in about 15 seconds or so, then the iTunes libraries load up next in about another 30 seconds or so.
