Sound from computer when unit is connected?

HI,

Is there anyway of making sound come from the computers speakers when my NS6 is plugged in. All I want to do is record some mixes easily and quietly while my little one is sleeping during the day, and although I normally record externally through Cubase, with the sound coming out of my speaker system, I just wondered if there was a quick way of changing settings so that plays like ti does when the hardware is disconnected?

Damn... Small world... I'm taking over from you at Revs tonight... ;-)

You could feed the output of the NS6 into the computer again but you'll get a massive amount of latency. Best bet is probably to buy a pair of cheap-ass computer speakers and a phono/mini jack socket adaptor from Maplin.

haha, small world mate! daddy day care is taking over for now at least, so cheers for that, been there for nealry a decade on and off now.

Think that might be my only solution if im honest if there are no settings to change it so that internal soundcard plays.

Cheers, and enjoy Revs, its a really nice gig, hardly ever any bother from punters or managment TBH!

I know mate, I already do Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays in there... ;-)

Really unsure how we've managed to avoid meeting each other TBH... Pretty sure there were a few Fridays when we were playing on different floors at Rev Sunderland... Next time we're in the same building we should definitely make sure to say hello!

Back on topic, my daughter is 11 months old now, and in that 11 months I have got very used to the art of mixing purely in the headphones. I tried using little speakers but I actually found that more annoying.

you could just use your headphones set to master ? not sure if the ns6 has the same as ns7 but when i want to quietly dj i just use the ch 1 and 2/master switch on the ns7
while mixing a song in ill flick it to ch1/2 and when i want to hear the actual output ill flick it to master

yeah, thats a good idea. i just wanted to be able to hear myself scratching as well.... Hmmm.... I think that is my only real option tho!
