As I was cleaning the faders I noticed a crap ton of space inside the mixer and my first instinct was to toss an external hdd in there.

Anybody done this or thought about it? It seems like a smaller usb powered HDD would fit perfectly.

but I dont see the advantage (at least for me)

If you use an external drive (I installed 7200rpm in my mac, no need) then you will get the advantage of not having to carry it. But thats the only advantage I could think of. This is outweighed by all the disadvantages. You cant move or swap the drive. Could add extra heat to your mixer, and void the warranty. Everything else would stay the same, you sill have to plug it in for example. I just dont see a net gain (except for the fun of modification)

it would be badass you would definately have to have another port though... cuz of the bandwithd limitation.
