WINDOWS RUNNING VIDEOSL BELOW SPECS

eye357 3:13 AM - 31 December, 2007
Basically I'm trying to get Videosl to work under the system requirements. I know djsteel was able to do it with a macbook below spec requirements but has anyone done it with a windows os. I have a hp pavilion xp os, celeron 1.5 ghz, 2gb ram, intel graphics card 915 family chipset and enough gigs of memory. I run my sl with no problems ever but my VSL only plays audio the screens stay white even though all the fader and effects work. Wondering if anyone was successful with any windows os
to run VSL below specs. If so, post your specs. Just trying to save money before I am forced to upgrade.

The screens staying white is a bug and will be fixed in a future release, however a 1.5GHz Celeron with an Intel 915 isn't going to be good enough. You might be able to get one low resolution mpeg 4 video to run forwards but you won't get two videos going and you won't be able to scratch.

thats cool but I'm still gonna try. I want to see what happens when the bug is fixed with an update. If it doesn't, I'm finally gonna leave windows and hello macbook pro!!! LOL

I have a compaq 1.6 dual core AMD turion, 2gb ram. Ive only messed with one video (all of mine are VOB) and it seemed to hold up ok, a little glitching. Alot of transitions did show up. This was on XP. Same laptop on Vista had a white screen.

My dilema is do i buy a dell with XP, 2.2ghz intel dual core and dedicated nvidia 8600gt video card, or a macbook????

I;ve noticed dual core is a big variable. But whats VOB clore46. how do you convert to tha, what did you use..program to convert I mean.

VOB is the container format used by DVDs, a VOB file contains mpeg2 video + mpeg2/PCM/DTS/ac3 audio + subtitles. You can't use VOBs in SSL

clore46, have you tried upgrading your drivers under Vista?

Oh i was confused clore46's message seemed to say that vob worked but was glitching. what graphics card did clore46 have in that computer? nobspangle you hear any news for an update yet? I stuck between a macbook and macbook pro. they book can run vsl with the bare minimun specs but prices are a big difference.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 1500 with XP and 3 gigs of RAM. The video card is way under specs, but I use it just fine. I can't use any of the text effects or anything, but videos are smooth. I have to encode them with H.264 encoder (MP.4) and keep the hard drive defragged, but I've had no trouble. Someday I might get a Mac just to use the advanced video effects, but for now I am happy and for my gigs, the crowd loves it! :)
