So the club i work at just upgraded there internet from some home plan of 25mb/s down and 2 or 3 up. to 250mb/s down and 20mb/s up. i'm thinking that should be more than fast enough to stream video of the club to the internet. Question is what program should i use? How much more work load will this put on my Mac?

That's an insane amount of bandwith. You actually would have been fine with the first one in all honesty, but especially in a nightclub where POS systems and Wifi are being used the more the bandwith, the better.

There are several programs that work very well. Ustream Producer is great for the 1 man do it yourself show. The problem with Ustream itself is unless you're paying for a pro account you're gonna have ads popping up during your broadcast.

Livestream is the same way. We've stuck with Livestream because of the quality and better control of the video itself.

I would try out a free service once or twice and see how it reacts LIVE with you at the club and all the variables that come along with it before you jump into buying a pro account

+1 for livestream. the software (procaster) is pretty slick as well. they even have a hardware solution which doesn't require a computer. only thing is livestream is pricey.

the best free solution would be ustream via web browser or via the ustream producer app.

How dose it get the video output? is it via syphon or do i need to run hardware for it to work?

That's software aint it?

Naw it's all in the setting of the program. I do a Weekly Show Called DjBoozie's Visual Eye Candy (Check local listing). What you need to install (for ustream) is desktop producer, This allows you to choose your output. So I have mine set to ME output which is what you want to use..pretty simple

Correct Boozie. My bad. Too many projects on my desk. Thanks for the correction.

Nyce - we tried it and it has many defects for long term usage on wifi. LAN will hold but it still has issues.

that sucks. i wouldn't purchase it tho. i already have a few computers that can do the same thing.

Yeah We did remote broadcasts for The Mixing Lab (pre-tricaster) w/ an ADVC110 Capture Device. Composite in / FW800 out. Worked fine to get the point across. But now there are HDMI / DVI / Component models out there
