57 function to replace shift+i and shift+k

djbrady 6:42 PM - 28 December, 2007
I want to assign b1 and b6 to shift+i and shift+k functionality but I can't find it in the menu. I searched the forum for shift+i and didn't find anyone who discussed this before. Anybody know if this is possible? Thanx-

Before you jump on me... I need this only for songs that don't have a cue point or I would just use cue 1. Thanx again!

I + K are called "temp cue" on the 57 list

Do you know if band + and - are also available?
nik39 10:49 PM - 28 December, 2007
+/- as in zoom in/out?

speed up and slow down. Thought it be nice to have the option to do slight speed adjustments with the buttons insted of touching the platter when talking to people in the booth. Not a must have but would be nioe. Thanx

Speed up+slow down temporarily as in pitch bend?
waffelz 12:15 PM - 30 December, 2007
i thnk he means so as to not have to adjust the deck...speed it up n the program itself...?
djbrady 9:00 PM - 30 December, 2007
pitch bend
djbrady 9:00 PM - 30 December, 2007
i meant bend instead of band ...
nik39 9:02 PM - 30 December, 2007
Pitch bend is assignable as a function.
waffelz 10:49 PM - 30 December, 2007
i think he means as in using the pitch control on the deck itself...speeding or slowing down the track speed...doesn't pitch bend just adjust the sound pitch of the track?
nik39 10:55 PM - 30 December, 2007
waffelz, I dont know what you mean.

Speeding or slowing down the permanent pitch is possible but only makes sense in internal mode.
waffelz 11:12 PM - 30 December, 2007
so you can do this in the program without touching the pitch slider on the deck itself? as thats what he asked....pitch bend in most programs i've used(but thats producing) means the tonality of the track and not the speed of the bpm
so if thats is the case then his answer is yes...

As previously said, only in internal mode.

Yes, but we are not talking about producing :)

i knwo where talking about pitch bending which as far as I've seen has been the same in all gear I've seen it in....so cool it does do what he wanted to know...thats good to know...
so does it do the cheese ball action of pitch locking like tractor does?lol

I only see fast forward and rewind as assignable functions on the 57. I don't see pitch bend + / -. I know this is assignable through midi on a padkntrol or trigger finger but I don't want to waste buttons for a function I would rarely use. Not a big deal.
nik39 12:07 AM - 31 December, 2007
brady, are you assigning to one of the sticks or to the buttons?
djbrady 12:26 AM - 31 December, 2007
buttons
