These can be found now for under $150.. I finally picked one up to supplement my DJM-800 (mostly for quicker CUE point access). I like the build feel..
I initially had a panic attack when I couldn't get it to do crap in SSL, after connecting it. After searching through these forums and the rest of the net I found it was a simple issue of changing to midi channel.
It seems to fill a nice niche between the super simple controllers under $100 and the button and knob fiesta that is the Kontrol X1.

Been using it for about 2 years give or take...love it, my only issue is it seems to have a few conflicts with my nano control(which I use soley for video) ...nothing major but there are a few buttons on the kontrol which get read the same as a few buttons on the 1000s again nothing major if I run the nano kontrol on scene 2 I have zero conflicts ....but there is 1 or 2 buttons(No knobs Or faders) in scenes 1, 3 and 4 that conflict

Been using that dn hc1000 since it cameout.
And also sold it with the 57.
I love that thing specially pushing the knob to do 8 bar echo out.
Now I got the 62 its 1 less piece.
I was the first one with the 1000

I've had four-five of them.
The cue buttons go bad in a few months. The store keeps giving me new replacements. LOL.
It's a nice unit, but serviceability (ability to simply clean and/or replace switches) is insanely bad.

I'll have to keep an eye on mine. They felt pretty sturdy.
@DJ'Que - I am definitely a fan of less is more when it comes to eq in general. I love the Rane's but it seems video is the stepchild when it comes to their stuff and there's always one or two buttons I feel are lacking for controlling features.
I am really starting to love the knob for adjusting the bar count for the loops as well.

That is the reason I love the 1000s

I use a 56, SL2, and the HC1000, I feel absolutely no need to get a 61 or 62.
