The real SSL test

5:08 AM - 21 September, 2005
Ok well I tested SSL in the hot balzing sun and it passed... then I tested it at a smaller house party (30-50 peepz) with druken people stumbleing around the gear and another pass of SSL.
BUT now its time for the real test:
500-800 people crammed in a basement (big one).
Its so damn hot that sweat drips from the cieling, girls take off their shirts and just dance in their bras and on bar counters...
Open bar action... so floor is covered in beer, liqure and other unknown sticky stuff.
10-20 Stinky security gaurds...
20-60 staff members
2 semi-drunk Dj's using SSL
I'll let you guys all know how it goes this saturday.
If anyone is in Toronto PM and come to the party.

I dont.... I usually just stick 2 pencils under the laptop so the air can get under it.... but then again thats why its going to be the real test.

reminds me of Jimmy's Bronx Cafe. At 3:30am without fail girls got on the bar and took their clothes off. Once saw a female midget take her clothes off and get boooooo'd off stage. Too funny! Got to love NYC.

you packin an umbrella or canopy for your laptop so the nasty ceiling drip doesn't get all up in your stuff?
mexicannnnnn
10:27 PM - 21 September, 2005
Nah I usually just take of my shirt 1/4 thru the night and use that to wipe the drips.... I'm more scared of drunk people tripping and spilling their drink on my gear. The SL1 and everything except my laptop is in a Road ready case.. so its pretty safe... but the laptop is the weak point here, in terms of heat and humidity.

Cant wait to hear how it goes - any chance of pictures of this mega event?

Yes I will be posting it.... its a bit hard to take pics since its all in black lights and the walls all have white paper over it.... and everyone is wearing a white shirt. Also since its sooo hot and sweaty inside, it kind of looks like fog when you take a pic, but I'll do my best to get them to come out good.

SSL should pass all test's set b4 it..I would probably give the laptop a little more breathing room than just 2 pencils..if you can manage an iCurve I would really look into one.
Also have a towel or something to wipe the sweat from your brow and to keep your hands dry...all you need is just a little moisture build up and goodbye laptop :-(
Just on a side note...I am in Texas and I am hosting a lot of family from the Houston Evacuation and everyone was very impressed with SSL...I threw a huge block party last night and you should have seen how many on-lookers stopped by and gave me huge props on both the mix and equipment...everyone was tripping I even got 5 gigs out of it...lol

Beats the gig i had last night. I worked a benefit for Thursday's Child (Long Island HIV/AIDS support group). It was great, over 100 people in the bar, a good 70-80 people on the dance floor. Then the bar manager who was drunk off his ass went ballistic on me and threatened to stab me if I didn't leave the booth. He ruined the party. The crowd left with me.

Hahahaha ... there is a video somewhere which shows the Iraqui Information Minister, and a version which has him talking about World Domination by FS2. Henri from Stanton might have taken the lesson to heart :)
Before you go back to FS2 you would be well advised to follow the current thread in their Traktor3 discussion ... no-one appears to be fixing FS2 problems, no-one appears to be taking responsibility, and there's virtually no-one left to defend the product.
It is a limp carcase swinging in the breeze, just waiting for a charitable soul to cut the rope and bury it 6' under.

Did you read my post in the T3 thread? If not I said I would never pay for T3 since all the stuff I have been through with NI and Stanton. I was an old time FS1 member from the oooooold stanton boards too... thats how long I go back, you know the N2IT days. They are loosing all their members that had faith in them for a long time...

If you check my SSL forum user info you can see that I've been here for a long time too. I just kept watching SSL progress and FS2 decline. For some reason I kept hoping that NI / Stanton would pull their stuff toghther.. but I realized it will never happen and I've been duped for years.
