sound issues with scratch live, rane ttm56 and kodak zi8

im using the kodak zi8 to record my set. i am using numark ttxusbs and the ttm56 with scratch live 1 box. i am hooking my rca/mini cable from aux output from mixer to the camera. when i play back the videos, the sounds are somewhat distorted. the gain is turned up because if its not, i can hardly hear the music. can anyone help me with some optimum settings in order to produce better sounding videos? sorry if this request is vague and not pertinent.

The Zi8 only has a microphone level input, and your mixer puts out a line level signal.

It's not suitable for what you're trying to do I'm afraid, you need a recorder with a line input, or feed the output from the mixer into your computer's line input and record with something like Audacity.

but this will only record audio.....how can i get the visual aspect?

You can buy an attenuator cable for about $25 that will step line level down to microphone input level.
