I know serato only supports 16bit/44khz, but does using the 57 as a sound card with coreaudio/ASIO support higher fidelity (24/96) for your standard sound apps?

There are two parts to this,
Internally the 57 uses 24bit resolution for all its mixing, routing and effects. All the D/A and A/D converters are 24bit for this purpose.
However the links over USB are only 16bit both for recording and playback and are then unsampled or dithered down as they enter/leave the mixer.

so if i were to use the 57sl as my main sound card, I could only record in 16/44?
