57 suddenly doesn't recognize Macbook Pro

Niro 9:31 PM - 11 March, 2012
Not sure why this happens and if it's been covered before, but I ran into this situation last night. My 64bit quad macbook pro wasn't recognized by the clubs 57, which I just played on last week. No biggie, but it's was busy and in the middle of switching over. No time to research, tried 2.2, 2.3.3. Fortunately someone had an SL1 box and plugged that in and it worked. I had to manually transition videos all night, but it worked.

I didn't think about the 64 bit and USB1-2 drivers, because it worked with the SL1. After the show, D-Twizzle stopped by and told me about a past situation and to reinstall 2.3.3 to reinstall the Drivers. It worked, so if anyone runs into this situation, now you have one solution.

I'm still not sure why one week it was fine and the next week it wasn't. Serato?

Hey Niro,

We've been seeing this a lot with Lion 10.7.2 and or 10.7.3.
We think some Protools drivers may be getting installed by default.

Try this:

Open a Finder window.
Click on your Macintosh HD drive.
Click on the Library folder.
Click on the Audio folder.
Open the Midi Drivers folder.
Copy any Digidesign or Protools drivers to your desktop.
Delete any Digidesign or Protools drivers within the Midi Drivers folder.

Now try opening SSL without your mixer turned on.
Then turn on your mixer.

If your still having issues try unplugging and replugging the mixer while its turned on.

Thanks Zach, it was the clubs mixer. I have also been loosing midi assignments. I think I'm just going to dump everything and go back to 10.6.8 snow leopard for the gig computer and keep testing the new stuff on the girlfriends.

Thanks
