Hey guys, so i was dj'ing and serato decided to freeze on me. The music continued to play during the freeze and quickly I got eveything working properly again. This has happened several times and I was told that the freeze occurs due to having "Corrupted Files" in my library. Does anyone here DJ with Corrupted Files in their library? And if so, does Serato ever freeze on you?

I never DJ with corrupt files in my library, because it can cause SL to freeze or crash.

What you were told was correct.

So I deleted all my corrupted files and Serato froze on me again. This is very frustrating; does anyone know why else this could be happening?

for 3 years corrupted files did not affect anything for me, for some reason now they do.

Hey DJ Espee - That's too bad dude. Ya, I still have some corrupted files in my library but the problem seemed to stop. I don't think i've done anything different.

Hopefully the issue doesn't come back. Cheers guys.

I use this method to fix my files, www.knappy.com
It doesn't fix them all but about 90/95% of the files I've ran through it no longer show up corrupted.

Also try defragging your hard drive every so often. I had a freezing issue when I started doing video, but after defragingthe HD the problem is gone. Fragmented files will place higher load on your CPU and extra load time for songs. (A single song file can be broken into 450 little pieces that Serato is trying to put together while playing - boggs it down!)
