Another instant doubles questions

Ok. I read about hitting down on the scroll knob twice to get instant doubles, but am I dumb here? Regardless of the left or right scroll knob. Everytime I hit it twice, it goes to another track or it starts the orignial track from the start.
help out a dummy.

Yep. I have instant doubles checked.
The only way I can get instant doubles on my Rane 62 is hit the Load knob on the other side.
Is this the only way?

The Flex FX button underneath the Aux is to allow you to add an effect to the audio coming in on that Aux channel.

been fooling around with it and cant really find any good buttons that make sense for a one click instant double....mostly because of it retaining its original function
i think the best option i see now as far as function and easy location is to use use two of the effect buttons like djblisk said.... untill they make all the buttons mappable which we would all like to see happen im sure...
anybody else got any ideas????

dont know why you need to map a button when double clicking the load deck knob does it for you.

The instant double has become very important for the one turntable style. It would be like having to double click for FlexFx, Loops, or even a Cue in some situations.

yes I instant double all the time.....I'm just wondering whats wrong with just using the double click off the load knob even if using 1 TT. I don't see the need for mapping a button when you have the load button there ready to do it for you with a double tap.
Maybe I'm missing something but I dont see any need to map another button when the mixer does it right out the box.

since I havnt purchased a 62 yet it is possible that it would not be a problem. But I doubt it highly as several people have had the same issue. I know the way I spin well enough, having to double click would be an obstacle. Every song gets ID, if I start the track again, or doubles ups, or whatever there is A LOT of pressing that button, I just cant imagine having to click it twice. Like I said - imagine having to double click to engage FlexFX, Loops, Cues. Would that be an issue? Im sure it would.
Now if double clicking were to engage something like channel swop, mic on, reverse I would not have an issue because I dont press those multiple times and very quickly.
Maybe its not an issue for you, thats fine.
I imagine that I will do like Niro and assign it to those effect buttons. If the 62 had the same joysticks as the 57 it would be near perfect.

Hear ya ..Each to their own style eh ;) If your instant doubling every track then it would make sense to only want to press something once.
Hopefully 62 gets added layers to map how peeps want. Like EVERY button and knob with the choice of retaining original function or not. That that would be total customisation and folks would love it.

Yes exactly.
I can't imagine not being able not being able to map the software midi controls. I hope it's not a decision and the functionality is coming. I also can't imagine why the mixer functions can be mapped but the original function not turned off. And I hope Rane can change that in firmware somehow. Both situations just don't make sense to me...

The load button is fine but I personally don't care for the location of it and just would like a one click option ...like he stated above the way it was set up on the 57 with left and right on the same joystick button was ideal and just what I was used to.
