Hey everyone,

I had a Rane TTM57SL, and I used a VFX-1 to use the DJ FX on SL. I loved the combo, I used to use the effects on the 57, but I hated going through all the groups. So I spent the cash and got the VFX-1. I also used the Mixtape feature a lot with the Bridge, and the DJ FX would record on there but the effects on the mixer wouldn't. Anyways, I got the 62 a few weeks ago and been gigging with it since I've gotten it. I love the effects on it, but today I connected my VFX-1 and it isn't working properly on version 2.4. I got the BETA for 2.4.1 and still doesn't work.

I went into the Setup tab and it shows there MIDI. The only function that works is the super knob and the beat, but I can't change the FX or toggle on/off the decks.

I know that a VFX-1 might seem unnecessary with the 62, but I used the DJ FX quite a bit. I can live without for a bit when I gig with the 62, but when I go to clubs they usually just have a SL box and would hate to use 2.4 and not have control of my VFX-1.

Am I doing something wrong?

i think to turn fx on with the 68 you just select the flex fx for that deck, and turn on "usb insert" so no need to turn the fx on/off in serato...go ahead and re-map those buttons (if they let you)

Does the VFX1 not control the internal effects at all or are you just not hearing the effected sound?

Hey Zach,

It's not being controlled. Well let me explain. I can use the superknob. turn off and on the effect, switch the beats. Yet I cannot switch between the effects and select the decks.

When I plug it in DECK1 and DECK2 are highlighted for my left virtual deck. I can't turn them off or select them on the right deck. I tried to MIDI map them myself, but no luck.

Hm... try this:

Shut down SSL.
Open the Music folder on your internal drive.
Open the _Serato_ folder.
Open the Midi folder.
Delete the Autosave.xml file.
Now re-open SSL and give it a test.

Any luck?

Ok.. I suppose try it with the new beta.
If your still having issues please post in the beta section so Serato can get it fixed.

I have the same issues with the vfx, i love the send in the new mixers (post fader), but i play out a lot on different systems so i love my vfx for those occasions.

There is a bug in 2.4.0 and the beta 2.4.1 of "VFX-1 not working at all" which has been confirmed and logged by the Serato software team.

Yes and thank you, I appreciate that you did. I wanted to post this here for other people so that they are aware and don't pull their hair out trying to fix something that is broken.

Where did you get the SSL overlay for the VFX-1? I've been looking for one, and when I bought mine I thought it was supposed to ship with it, but mine didnt have anything.

No wonder their website had a bunch of vestax stuff. I ended up buying it.
