Cleaning TTM57 Following Wiki But Can't Get the Small Push Button Cap Off?

Dj_Danny 11:54 PM - 2 March, 2012
Hi everyone, I am trying to clean out my B1-B6 buttons following the wiki. ssl-wiki.help.bootlegs.de

But I can't get the part below the button off. Does this come off on all mixers? In the wiki he is able to take out the button and the part I am pointing out in the photo.

His image is below, see how you can see the pcb below but I still have that square button bottom part showing:

Its not that hard to take off the cover and get down as far as I did. My concerns are what sort of effect the dexoit has on the plastic long term. I ended up spraying the button and I will tell you that the spray did not evaporate after 2 hours. I wiped down as much as I could and everything worked afterwords.

You shouldn't need to take the top cover off at all.
If anything use some dental floss to pop the B cap off.
This will allow better access to the switch.
From there, spray a bit of Deoxit Fader Lube F5 on the switch.
I would also let it sit there overnight so the lube really gets to the switch.

Use that Deoxit spray. I had the same problem, and after using that never had an issue again

So wait, let me get this straight...You just pop off the caps of the buttons and spray right down in there without removing the faceplate? Do you need to worry about any run off down into the rest of the mixer?

You don't want to spray a bunch in there. Just a quick spray.
