Not to get ahead of myself, but noticed the thread above and figured i'd ask if this applies to the 62 as well
I have a boat load of VST effects - would be cool to hookem up

Yes, the 62 most definitely has the USB Insert for VST FX routing and it has a MIDI send / receive beat clock (something the 68 doesn't have), which allows your Ableton VST effects to follow the BPM of your tracks playing in SSL :)

Could you tell me how this would be configured. Ive seen Zach's post on the rane site, but how what needs to be done to add the feature you just mentioned with the 62?
Does it make a difference if the bridge is enabled?
Also could I add a KP3 into the loop somewhere and have that synced to serato as well?
Thanks!!

Its the same process when using the 62 except that in Ableton's Audio preference panel you need to turn on 9/10 in the input config and 7/8 in the output config.
When you create your audio track select 9/10 as your EXT input and 7/8 as your EXT output.
Other than that it should be identical:)

Im wondering if I can do the same thing,"USING VST EFFECTS WITH SERATO SCRATCH LIVE", with Sixty-One mixer?

No.. As soon as you open SSL Serato steals the driver and it will no longer be seen in Ableton:(
The USB insert button on the 61 is there for you to be able to use internal software effects post fader.
If you weren't using Scratch Live, but rather just playing regular vinyl/cds or using a different program, you could do this.

Is this due to the Serato software restriction, OR Sixty-One's hardware restriction?
I'm gonna post a feature request on this, if it's on Serato side.

Thanks, Zach!
On the Sixty-One manual page 9, it says
"The FLExFx button assigns a PGM channel to the FlexFx bus where external analog (with the
ANALOG INSERT button) or software effects via USB (with the INSERT button) may be inserted, such as Scratch Live DJ-FX"
When I read it, I thought I could use a VST effect and Serato at the same time,
though the manual doesn't mention 3rd party's VST effects directly.
Anyway, thank you for the information again.
I love the mixer.Rane is the best.
Serato should work harder.
