whitney had the best female voice, ever. listen to her early work in the 80s, this was pre-technology. her voice was real.

Nope, I knew Jennifer was the NEXT BIG VOICE the 1st time I saw her on American Idol, and had an ABSOLUTE DUCK when she was booted off.

Ask my wife, (who was mad that I was so passionate about another chick...go figure)..

But when Elton John recognized her talent, I KNEW she would be alright...

Jennifer is (or was before she lost all the weight), easily the next Big Voice of "Real Music".

But that's for another discussion...

I don't know how old you are, but if your naive enough to believe that Bobby Brown got Whitney strung out your crazy. She's older than him and from Newark NJ, this chick ain't the image that Clive Davis wants you to believe. Then again entertainment is all "make believe" you should be old enough to understand that........

I have to agree with that ALSO, BUT to give the Ultimate Benefit of the doubt, they said no drug paraphanalia was present....

However, my COMMON SENSE also recognizes the fact tha Ray J (her boyfriend) made the 911 call, so who knows what may, or may not have been cleaned up in advance...

I'll officially have to hold judgement until they do the autopsy, but I wouldn't be shocked if something was amiss...

First off RIP Whitney

Not true, simply not true. the fact is bobby got her fucked up....back in the early ninetys whitney came out publicly to "shame" him to quit.......who gets who on drugs? the newark girl from a religious family, or the man from roxbury mass, who got booted out of New Edition. You can't be serious...

Let me be clear...Bobby was doing his thing, but on a SMALL SCALE...

Whitney introduced that dude to COCAINE...and it was a WIKKA WRAP...

I know, becuz I had a childhood friend who was an architech. Man, he went to a "POWER" Party thrown by his "RICH" co-workers, and they introduced him to coke.

One snort, and he threw his life away...That mess is NO JOKE.

Man...so I was at Tru Hollywood Thrusday when she sang her last "performance" and I can't lie, something just felt strange about it all.

When she first went up, I was bein silly and said "youuuu betta lay low!!" But she sounded BAD up there, and almost fell over just walking up there...she was leaning tough. I figure she got into it with whoever some reality show girl there was, and they all rushed her out frantically...I was barely able to snap this pic of her as she brushed by me - t.co. She got outside, signed a CD of her debut that a fan had, and left with Ray-J trailing her.

I could just tell that something wasn't right, and I didn't think she was close to death, but I honestly felt like eh, she'll probably never recover voice wise.

I hope all the Whitney tribute sets that are about to be flying around consist of her original material, not bad remixes/bootlegs. Played a couple of her joints last night. Yea...I wish she had more upbeat tracks like Chaka Khan, but she was a victim of that late 80's R&B/Pop crossover era. I played "I wanna dance with somebody" at my spot, and the girls definitely sang along LOUUUUD to it. And I played "I'm your baby tonight" as the last song, so my 30+ ladies sang along to it.

All of those things takin close together with alcohol just contradict the heart. Speedin it up, slowin it down. Her heart probably just couldn't keep up. These celebrities have all this money, power and success and they get that feeling that their invincible. Until they get all strung out on WHATEVER. And it takes over them and the body can't handle it. We are losing to many Icons to this kinda stuff. Fuckin shame man.

I don't care what kinda music your into. You can't help but get goosebumps when she hits some of those notes in her songs. I was really pullin for her comeback. R.I.P.

It's a shame - she was one of the BEST r&b singers with REAL talent...

F*ck you Bobby Brown for messing her up...

Don't get it twisted...Whitney was an addict WAYYY before she met Bobby...

BUT she did have the best voice OF ALL TIME...

Until Jennifer Hudson came along...

Those who know, KNOW...but her initial image is so "Wholesome" that it messes up the fairy tale.

The problem is that she maintained a certain level of self destructive behavior, and BOBBY maintained a certain level of self destructive behavior...

Now MIX the two, given the amount of money available, stardom with access to ANYTHING, and a partner that ENABLES you and you enable THEM, those are all of the ingredients to a perfect storm.

Imagine you being RICH, access to people who can and will get you ANYTHING, and MARRYING somone who co-signs the deviant behavior?

Man listen, can't nobody tell two GROWN azz people what to do...they have to want it themselves.
