MBP (Dec 2010), i5, NOT Lion
I am beyond frustrated. I keep getting corrupt files with recent or brand new files from a well known (and long used) subscription service.
I've gone so far as to delete (command/shift/del) all corrupt files in ITCH, find and delete them (as well as all files from the same release) from external hard drive, and delete all files from the same release on the internal harddrive (they d/l to the internal, I move them to the external drive, then build overviews & more to crates on the external). Then re-download the files from the service.
I can tell I had successfuly deleted the corrupt (and other same release) files because when I "re"download them, the service does not find duplicates so it thinks it is the intial download.
I then find them on the internal harddrive, copy them to the external; then open ITCH, use "files" to move them to crates, and then build overviews. *This is the same process I have ALWAYS used.*
I've tried "relocate lost files" (none found), and also "re-scan tags". Still have corrupt files. At some point I apparently specified m4a files from the subscription service; while most of my tracks are MP3, newer ones are M4A. While all the "corrupt" files are M4A, some older M4A files are just fine !
On top of everything else, "Artist" and "Album" information tags are randomly disappearing - on non-corrupt tracks.
Anyone?

The main change in 2.1 is a change to the way it handles QuickTime file formats.
Upgrade to that, reanalyse everything and you should be sorted.

I tend to stay with something that works, and I"d not seen anything in the update notes that I felt would be a reason to go. 2.1 may have some changes for QT, but as I say, 2.0.1 was working perfectly until very recently (within the last 10 days).
I should think if being back level was causing the issue, it would have shown up when I started using M4A.
However.. since I am dangerously close to the loony bin, I will upgrade because if that solves the issue, it will be MORE than worth it. I've never been a "thrower", but my external harddrive has come close to taking flight...........

2.1 is generally far more stable than 2.01 anyway.
There are no flashy new features, just maintenance and bug fixing.
That type of release is the type you definitely should upgrade to...

OK so this took awhile.. just to answer back but not to fix.
I never did figure out what happened, but updating to the newer version and the other efforts of deleting, redownloading and reanalyzing either individually or together did resolve the issue.
Also upgraded to video, which is working great...most especially once I moved the video files off the USB drive and onto the MPB harddrive. :)
Thanks again...
