Why powder coat? I had mine painted at an auto body shop and got pearl white put on them. Looks awesome with blue led mod.

DJ DisGrace 1:22 AM - 6 February, 2012
u can only powder coat metal. it uses ionic charges to coat, then it needs to bake. You will melt your turntable...

Technics are made of metal, they are aluminum! Of course you have to take them apart first so you don't bake the insides. Powder coat is more durable than auto paint but either one works pretty well. Here's a picture of mine, I did all the work myself! i98.photobucket.com

Here's some other examples.

well I'll be damned.... I guess I've only ever dealt with the bottom half of 1200 when making repairs (which is rubber and plastic)

powder coat away!

I bought them as stickers from this place www.pimpmydecks.net
I put about 4 or 5 coats of the blue down, then put the stickers on and then 4 or 5 coatings of clear. So they are sealed in between the layers of paint.

Paint the platter, then wet sand the dots auto/body paint style to get the shine back.

Sick.
Logisticalstyles 3:36 PM - 7 February, 2012
I did mine around this time last year. I sprayed mine myself, but the next time I'm going to have one of my friends use his autobody paint. It'll either be white or royal blue. I need to replace my power light LEDs and find some high quality RCAs. I love seeing custom 1200s.

I've powder coated over 10 turntables, it's really no problem. Just make sure you put screws in every hole so they won't fill up. (NH NM) Don't use the original screws because they are not usable after the coating process.

Try this guy www.djhenraycustoms.com this will probably get yanked off the site.

DJ GaFFle 11:39 PM - 11 September, 2013

DJ K. Smith siting!!!!

Yo... Looks dope but I think you should paint the surrounds on those platter dots from black to white. Just do that and you're perfect. Is that powder coat?

Agreed. White tables with white platter/silver dots look majestic. I've even seen some with the top platter stripped and painted white. Virginal...

All white LED's to boot.
