Opening set for a concert

Hey guys.
I picked up a pair of technics to try djing 5 months ago and got hooked, so I kept at it. Right now I'm just just a bedroom DJ (obviously), but recently I got a break to play a 40min to an hour set before a concert (GZA). After me there's gonna be another DJ and a couple of opening acts before the main event. So basically I'm gonna be the dude on the decks playing the tunes while everyone is getting their drinks and getting comfortable. So my question is.. is there any rules/guidelines to follow in these sort of situations? Cause I don't want to look like a fool on my first night playing out.
I know that I've been spinning for only 5 months which is almost nothing, so I'm planning to keep the set nice and clean and not attempt anything fancy (for everyone's sake).
Any feedback is appreciated.

Don't play any songs by the headliner.
Don't play the hottest tracks if you have an early set.

play some classic heat. play 80's & 90's hip-hop anthems. get the crowd pumped.

Since you are the first act don't start the night with all the latest hits and bangers. The night needs to progress and build up energy for the headliner. IMO, playing an opening set is much harder than playing peak hours.

You have a lot of freedom early since you're trying not to burn the other DJs / Main act. Good bet is to mix in some artists GZA has collaborated with that Wu fans will feel.

Im going to watch Gza on the 18th of this month. BTW, a crowd going to watch a member of the Wu would be a piss easy crowd to play for. Straight East coast boom bap will be the only thing you need to play.
