MIDI Mapping and LED on/off

Okay, a few weeks ago I had a couple of nights at a venue where the booth was way too small for CDJs or my 1210s. Knowing I wasn't able to use my 1210s I quickly resorted back to Traktor for a couple of nights... I spent most of the day mapping the 68 before I went.
However, I've been offered another night at a similar venue in the next few weeks..
So, back to mapping.. does anybody know if the 68 is capable of LED output changes..?
eg: CUE Buttons 1-5. Is it possible that when pressed they light up like when they do with SSL..
It seems to be a fairly simple operation on my Maschine as a MIDI controller.. but when I try anything on the 68 I can map it, but no LED operation..??
Cheers.

Ah..!! right... I've got an old paper manual without these pages in... I presume they were added after the 68 became MIDI mappable.. Cheers.. :))

Hmm.. tried all options from the above mentioned PDF on Traktor Pro 2 to map output LED but still no luck has anyone actually got LED to go On/Off etc in any other program other than SSL. If so please could you give us a shout as to how you go about it..? I've tried every combination to no avail..

Hi, I've been trying to set up a RANE 68 to work with Traktor Pro 2.
Of course once working this should apply to other software too.. Ableton etc.
I have been able to map nearly all buttons and modifiers to what I want..
However I now want to make use of the LEDs available.
I think I have tried every possible option - but still no luck on getting the LEDs to go ON/OFF like I want...
RANE 68 connected via USB
Mac OS X 10.7.2
Traktor Pro 2.1.2
RANE 68 Channel:
Set to MIDI in = 1
Set to MIDI out = 1
Traktor Pro 2 Device Setup:
I have just set up a New General MIDI in TP2 and I am working with the very Bottom Left Cue Button set up as a simple Play ON/OFF.
The Button has the numbers 14/15 written on page 16. for MIDI In Assignments.
The Button has the number 20 written on page 15. for MIDI Out Assignments.
In-Port: SIXTY EIGHT
Out-Port: SIXTY EIGHT
Device Target: Deck A
Assignment Table:
Control-------I/O-------Assignment-------Mode-------Mapped To
Deck Play--------In---------Deck A-----------Toggle------Ch01.Note.G#0
Deck Play-------Out---------Deck A-----------Output------Ch01.Note.G#0
Output LED Options:
Controller Range---------Min---------Max
--------------------------------0-------------1
MIDI Range----------------0------------127
Invert and Blend both unchecked.
The above options I have changed to various combinations.. all with no luck with LED ON/OFF.
If anybody could help in any way I would greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks.:)

don't have a sixty eight, and am not too familiar with traktor, but you could monitor with midi monitor (check "spy on output to destinations" while running scratch live.
then see what scratch live sends e.g. upon setting a cue point
then configure traktor to send the same,
then check (with midi monitor again) what traktor actually sends.
maybe the way you find where the problem is. i assume traktor does not actually what you want right now.

another guess is, one of the two is using decimal numbers to describe the values, the other uses HEX (? - don't know, just a guess) . so maybe you are sending the wrong data.

Many thanks Radikarl..
It at least it gives me an idea to go at..
However just trying to get any MIDI data into either Midi Monitor / Midipipe / Bomes MT
when Scratch Live is turned on seems to prove very difficult.. I can get a message from the 68
when I have just the Midi program on.. but with SSL on nothing.. even with Virtual Ports in Bomes.
It seems as if SSL hijacks the 68 to it's own specific programming/midi messaging..?? Not sure if it does - anyone??

Yes, this is exactly what happens. Serato replaces our driver and uses their own, which does not allow sharing of the device between programs and does not put any MIDI traffic on the MIDI bus.
Now, let's fix those mappings.
You were almost there, but I see two errors. Your IN is mapped to Ch01.Note.G#0 (which is Note ON on Note #20, cool, thats the button note number from page 15). But Sixty-Eight was a little bit wonky in that the Buttons have one note number, and that button's LEDs have different note numbers. So your OUT should be Ch01.Note.D0 (which is note #14, as seen on page 16 of the manual).
The other thing is really an error, I guess, but you have MIDI range for LED of being 0 to 127. This will toggle the LED from OFF to BRIGHT. If you want to do DIM to BRIGHT, do 64-127. If you want to to do OFF to DIM, do 0-64.
Hope that helps, let me know if you need anything else.
