question about fader mod on the DJM900 (adding djm800 rotary kit)

So I purchased the DJM900, I took the DJM800 rotary kit and was able to wire in 1 of the channels as a test and it works, So now I am debating swapping the fader in the 900 for the djm800 rotary kit, My question is, Can this damage anything in the long wrong or are all 3 pole volume controls pretty much the same, GND, IN and OUT.... Not sure if there are specific resistors based on models, mixers, etc...... I figured though that Pioneer should use pretty much the same type across the board so it "shouldn't" be an issue.

Anyone that knows a lot on volume controls, I would love to hear what you have to say on this before I completely mod this thing... Thank you

I did measure the resistance between the 800 faders and 900 fader and they are VERY close,

8000 (ON) - 2000 (OFF) on the 900 fader
13,000 (ON) - 2000 (OFF) - on the 800

latest pics as of tonight, Pulled the rotary plate back out and painted it gloss back with a little metallic, also put dark purple led's in all the cues, thats a lot of led's!!!, 2 per cue. The purple is a lot darker then what you see in the pic, the blues and reds also look so light for whatever reason, but you get the point :)
