HELP WITH OUTPUT ON A MAC!!!

RAYMIXX 6:55 PM - 21 January, 2012
Hey guys, so here is my problem...yesterday I did a video set at a new venue I never been to and they have a bunch of new Vizo TV's they installed there...before I got on there was another DJ using a Dell PC laptop with Virtual DJ I believe and the output cable they are using is and HDMI cable. So he had the HDMI cable installed directly into his laptop PC and all the TV's where playing the output screen of his video set, so when we switched and I pluged the HDMI cable into my Mac, witch I was using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter and when I plugged it in I was only getting output out of only one TV out of the whole place...so there has to be a setting on my MacBook Pro that I'm missing.

Any suggestions or answers would be appreciated, thanks in advance fam.

Not your machine.

If the signal reached even one tv that says your hdmi adaptor is working.

Either you connected to the wrong cable or there was a problem further down the line.

Hey phtbob, thanks for getting back to me...yeah I'm not sure what was going on, once I got done w/ my set bec I just continued on w/ the one tv only working, I unplugged the HDMI cable and gave back to the same DJ that was on before and he plugged it back into his laptop and all the TV worked again for him no problem...

could be your mini display port adapter. quick way to test is to plug some other device in the hdmi cable. if all tv's play the device, it's the mini display port adapter (or the mac).

@DJ Nyce, I'm not sure if it is, bec I doubt I would of got any signals from any TV's at all than and I got only one tv to come on and one of the the guys there was telling me that that one tv that was the only one on is the main tv that put's out the rest of the tv's in the club.

@DJ Tecniq...haha, I think he was trying to sabotage my set by cutting the feed to the other TV's lol

Sounds like his plan worked lol. He musta had some type of extra hardware or something. I wouldn't see why it would display for all tv's on his setup but not urs?

He was trying to make you look bad is my guess but there 1 other option.

You said that the TV that did come one was the main TV and video signal is sent from it to other tv's, so theres a chance that your MBP doesn't send a strong enough gain in video signal for it to be rebroadcast to the other tv's. Also i have had many issues with HDMI outs on my MBP. I find i ALWAYS have to turn the video output down to 480p when sending video signal out via HDMI. HDMI matrixes do not always play well with mac's.

Thanks for the info Code:E, yeah if I DJ at that spot again I'm going to make sure to go in earlier and adj settings and maybe buy another HDMI adapter also.

Thanks
