While that may be true (and it is pretty obvious from the looks of it that the 62 does offer more instant functionality), the T1 offers a lot more than the 61, and they are both (61 and T1) now offered at the same (or close enough) price point.

The sad part is, DJs bought the T1 for $1900 (up until yesterday) and just took a $700 kick in the nuts :(

Can't debate that truth. Glad I didn't buy a T1! (In truth, the T1 was never on my radar as a must-buy; no true CF or LF curve adjust, plus some I/O items seemed to be missing, plus the previously insane price tag)

pretty much Traktor has to stay competitive, but I still see people dropping for the 62 I see a shit ton of 61 being sold to newer DJs or guys looking for replacement 57. I see a few guys just grabbing the T1 for the hell of it to have it.....ima grab a T1 so I can have traktor and SSL certified mixers

I played with the T1 today and that mixer is the most confusing and unintuitive mixer I have ever used. Things are not where they should be, it's cluttered, and there are way too many common functions that you need the shift button for.
I'm trying to be nice, but the T1 is shit.
The 62 on the other hand has no shift button and things are where I think they should be. I also don't feel there is anything on the 62 that I won't use. The 68 was more than I needed but the 62 is perfect.
I would love a 63...same thing but 3 full channels for 3 decks but maybe next year. Until then, I'll break a 62 in with a few hundred gigs.

Cowboy, I use a Pioneer DJM-T1 with Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and it works perfectly.
Crossfader is the best what I used. Mixer is the same class as the DJM-900 and DJM-2000. Everything is arranged perfectly. Much better than serato. New price is $999 !!!

Fair enough. I should also mention my disdain for the 2000 and most other Pioneer gear. The 900 isn't so bad in my book. I loved my 707 and CDJ800 MK1s. For many years that was all I used. Now I find all the gear kind of clunky. Maybe some of test models on the NAMM floor were busted but I couldn't just walk right up and get down on their gear like I can on most other gear.
Just not my cup of tea.
The new price on the T1 is a killer deal though. Reminds me of when the 707 went from 899 to 299 because they discontinued it from slow sales. Then the 707 became a legendary mixer.

For $1k I'd be curious to play around with it for video purposes since it's fully midi mapable. The 62 looks awesome. Just want to get my hands on it before I turn all fanboy. I was all in on the 68 and talked a club here into buying one and was never a big fan of using it.
Price is a big deal though. For $999, Traktor will likely pick up some market share. Personally, I love having the option of using either DVS. I use SSL 4 nights a week and have started using TSP2 with an Audio 10 and my Empath on one other night. Both programs have their quirks and their strengths. In the end, their competition for customers will ultimately only benefit us.

Let's be real...if anybody had actually bought the damn thing there wouldn't have been ANY price drop. Most Traktor die hards couldn't possibly be expected to be restricted to 2 channels ;-)

^ So true
For us 57sl owners... the T1 definitely looks good
...2k is too much... but the 62 would be ideal

T1 is nice but your not getting the full intergrated sound card, so if you only owned a 57 and sold it you would have to get a T1 plus a SSL sound card which price wise equals a 62 just a about unless you get used stuff. Also to note the 62 give you volume control over your sp 6 and you can scroll through your sp 6 scenes on the 62. Not to mention the filter sweep on all three channels is dope. The 62 was ultimately designed for the tablist who likes mix really fast that loves to loop roll in and who can trigger there samples with having to really pay to much attention to screen. The 62 is dope the T1 isnt really touching 62 in any way shape form or fashion.

The DJM-T1 works perfectly for me. Traktor 2 is the most advanced soft for DJs now. If you want to use SSL it is your choice.
