Using CDJs with TTM 57SL

djstat 4:37 PM - 13 November, 2007
I am about to switch over to SSL. I plan to use my CDJ 800 with the TTM-57SL. My question is, when using my setup, will my CDjs be able to stop and re-cue with just the touch of a button or will the players have to be in vinyl mode all the time? Does this question make sense?

it will work the same way as if you were using regular cd's without SSL

except for the auto looping on the cdj

is there a specific way for this to happen or just turn of vinyl mode off on the cd player?

you can use ssl in REL mode and set cue points in there. It wont matter is the cdj is in vinyl mode or not, I dont think im 100% sure what you are getting at or trying to do.

Basically I want to be able to hit play on my palyer as i start to mix a song in and if i miss timed it, hit the cue button so the song goes back to the beginning, just like if iw as using my cdj 800s with regular cds

Yes, you can do that whether vinyl is on or off on the CDJ but SSL has to be in ABS mode, that means it will replicate anything you do on the cdj, thats how I use mine and it works great

leave vinyl mode on...

IMO, cdjs are better used in absolute mode...

It sounds like you and I agree.
