I currently purchased the TTM 57SL to use with my PDX2000 turntables. First let me list all my equipment
Computer: Windows 7 with i7 processor
M-audio Fast Track Ultra audio interface (plugged into computer)
Akai MPD 32 Controller (plugged into usb hub connected to computer)
M-audio Axiom 49 controller (plugged into usb hub connected to computer)
Vestax PDX 2000 turntables (plugged into fast track ultra)
Rane TTM 57SL (planning on plugging into fast track ultra if possible)
Speaker monitors (plugged into fast track ultra)
guitars, mics, headphones and babies (plugged into fast track ultra)
Ok so first question. I was reading in the forums about people having trouble with the TTM 57SL and Windows. I dont know if its issues with Windows or the i7 processor. Is this true and if so is it fixed?
Second question. I currently have my speakers and my computer running through the fast track ultra. When I get the TTM 57SL will I run the turntables into the fast track ultra and run it as I am now, or do I need to get rid of the fast track ultra and just run everything through the audio interface in the TTM 57SL. I use the fast track as my computers sound card of course and also to run the speakers, microphones, and my guitars.
Thank you

The problem with the Iseries processor and USB1.1 with the windows based machines are not fixed. There are some workarounds but still pretty shady at best. As Jiggy Llipp recommended, there will be a new Rane mixer being announced on the 19th.

The USB 1.1 debacle on Windows will not be getting fixed.
The fix would need to come from Microsoft and its been over 2 years with no fix.
Not all "i" series computers suffer from this particular issue though.
Are you experiencing a dropout and the only way to get audio to come back is to unplug and replug your mixer?
If so, then your dealing with this issue. If not, you may be one of the lucky ones who isn't suffering from this issue.
You can take the fast track out of the setup. Simply use the 57 as your sound card:)

So I cancelled the order of the 57 with that much money at risk im not taking any chances. I am looking for other cheaper alternatived now. I ordered the mixer because of the automation ability but I now realize I can use my controllers to fo effects and really only want my turntables for scratching and some mixing. So instead im thinking of buying the sl2 its all I need for two decks. Then im gonna use the mpd32 for beats and I want to get a launchpad to run clips. Now never using serato im wondering will getting the sl2 and a launch pad give me the same control as the 57? And if I get the sl2 will I need the fast track ultra to run my speakers and guitar?

The only reason I ordered the 57 was cuz I found it for 1000 or else I was gonna get the sl2 and use my sa-3. I will wait and pray they release a new mixer for under 1000. Which will happen right after they showcase the flying pigs lol. Can you at least tell me if my other option I stated will work? Ill wait but as soon as I realize im too poor ima need a good back up plan

When they announce and release the new Rane SL mixer(s), the TTM57sl will be discontinued shortly there after. So I'm pretty sure that you will be able to pick one up at a lower price than your original purchase.

Yea true but I,worry about the dropout issue cuz I have an i7 processor and I dont want any problems. I would rather use my standard mixer and lose the automation ability and save money then spend and run the risk of problems. I have the mpd32 and can get a apc40 for cheap. Couldnt I just use those to run what my standard mixer cant and get the same concept as I would if I used a 57?

I's suggest using a friend's 57sl or getting in touch with a Rane Specialist detailing your computer specs...
