Serato Video General Discussion

Talk about Serato Video and Video-SL.

Video SL 2.0 !!!! NAMM

DJSi UK 7:15 PM - 5 January, 2012
So, the 50% offer on Video SL ends on the 19th Jan which strangely enough happens to be the first day of Namm 2012.

Let's get the rumours started, is this a sales push to create interest in the video plugin and to help the announcement of 2.0 (free upgrade?)
DJ'Que 7:40 PM - 5 January, 2012
huh ????????
DJSi UK 7:56 PM - 5 January, 2012

This has kind of been discussed to death over the last few weeks mate, starting as soon as VSL went on sale.

Suffice to say, we're all fairly confident of some sort of video related announcement at NAMM.

rumors bug the crap out of me.
how many rumors have we heard??

the sale was through december. now it's until namm. i could speculate and be wrong.
it's best to to just call and ask the marketing department.
what i do know is that serato is very busy right now.
i calculate a 75% chance an update will be release at namm.
the other 25% is to make people believe in something and generate sales.

Well Here's something to ponder as well.. ME has been laying kinda low as well.. So if a update IS dropped @ NAMM the fine folks as INKLEN have a trick up their sleeve brewing as well and I'm sure it'll still shit on a new update for VSL.. Once again sorry to be the bearer of bad news, But keep hope alive

WOW!!

Being able to save midi actions to a track and sending to light jocky etc so you get a perfect light show every time you play that track would be awesome. May get complicated when working in various venues though!
DJ Kos 6:34 PM - 6 January, 2012
wow. thats crazy. yes it would get complicated.

Not really cause after the first initial setup of the cue points it's stored or atleast that's how Im taking it....

Different venues will be using different lights in different positions around the club. The midi output would have to be specific to a certain set up in a particular venue. It also depends what midi channels each lighting engineer in each venue is using for certain lights and so on.....

I think this is more for a tour set up where you are using the light set up every night, pre programmed.
the SOUNDINSURGENT 9:25 PM - 6 January, 2012
I guess I should have been more specific cause that's what I was thinking..... I don't really see someone using this and changing up the light show every night, I could see if they added more lights or I should say a different type of light. But even then its probably just a matter of opening up that other program and finding where you wanna add it....
skinnyguy 2:40 AM - 7 January, 2012
i'm going to set it so everytime i reach the break in a selena gomez song, my coffee maker will brew a nice cup of coffee.
DJSi UK 10:55 AM - 7 January, 2012

Looks like this video has upset someone, has been blocked!!
DJ'Que 4:04 PM - 8 January, 2012
haha but I dont think thats for serato. like posted above you would have to have a set lighting setup to keep that going.and club lights are everywhere plusmost dont wont the dj messing with there lights
