Im not sure since im running lion do i have to run version 2.3.3 if im not using vsl. I've read 2.3.3 is the most stable using vsl, but i use mix emergency and had problems running scratch live 2.3.3 on my new mac (lion 1.7.2). I've never had a problem with 2.1 or 2.2 and wondering if i could continue running those version even though im using lion?

2.0?... that's all I ever use.. Too scared to use anything higher because all of the horror stories. 1.9.2 or 2.0 is what most people use for the same reason.. used 2.3 but at home and got some drop outs so i went right back to 2.0

I was asking how long have you been using it in clubs? Yes 2.0 with lion with mix emergency

2.2.2
Using that for over a year, with lion for about 3 months. Latest version of ME (not beta, released version)

haha. I see.
I might move to 2.3.3 but will wait until a few more video dj's say if they have found any corruption issues.

since lion gm i have been using ssl. i haven't had any issues. beta tested 2.3.3 still no issues and with the 2.3.3 release no issues.
i have tried it with vsl, but it's very difficult to use vsl after using ME.
So my current setup is late 2011 mbp, ssl 2.3.3. and ME 1.7.2. Flawless.

I tried ssl 2.3.3 & ME 1.7.2 with Lion and found it glitchy mostly only upon loading the actual tracks...Can anyone please advised what settings they are using in ME and or Serato please? I have 17" late 2011 Macbook Pro 8Gb of Ram i7. I have no problem with 2.0 ...fyi.

Much better Boozie , gonna test it thoroughly ...but does it matter that my VGA is not plugged in?

Naw I Don't think it would... the buffer tell the computer how much available ram to use.. So you can lower them and it's still run smoothly without taking up a lot of resources..

The glitch when loading a track could be from the rewrite of tags on the previous track.

Ok Lion, ME & 2.3.3 is no good, tested it spinning for 5 hrs striaght, loading tracks was still very glitchy, I got error mess from ME stating ..."Key frame rates ...etc" Also I noticed Serato giving message that it was rewrite of tags on the previous track. Why are both of these programs giving me this message each? Is there a setting in Serato or ME that I should change?

Don't worry about either message... Serato does that cause it's adding you song to the history or any changes you make to said track like a cue point ...ME the message is from the video you might me playing the rendering may be off some... nothing to major to worry about though

Kinda worries because its causing audio on the track being cued to lag and cut out, thus when I want to quickly mix and snap to cue point 2 or 3 there is no audio it takes too long for audio to catch up. Is there a setting i can change? However no problem on 2.0 which is what i will use from now on.

Using Lion , 2.3.3 , and VSL. No glitches as long as I don't touch effects. Just have to set effects before I start my set and leave em.

Mix Emergency 2.0 dropping real soon:
Watchwww.youtube.com
I stick to 1.9.2 + what ever video software Im going to use.
ROCK solid.
if you are getting audio dropouts, and tag re-writes you gotta buckle down and find
a SSL version that works for you...as you can see here there are people who back different
versions.
from what I understand, 2.3.3 is VERY good.
BUT, you need to re-scan your entire library (Not as big deal)
and expect intermittent crashes while re-scanning (Aggrivating)
The people I know that have followed this path; have had success with 2.3.3
There has also been know issues with 8gb ram in the i7's
(I cant tell you exactly, but they popped out 4gb of ram, and everything was butter)

I think it was Millz?
To be honest, I think as that's the only time it's been heard of I think we can treat it as an 'edge case'. Not to be disregarded, but not the rule. Could be an issue with a certain batch of Macs.
AFAIK plenty of people are running 8gb of ram on i7s without issue.

Just noticed this....
Advanced
Cache 1gb
with 8 or 4 gb or ram you can push this up.
I have 4gb or ram on my i7 and rock it at 50% (2gb)
Id say try 2gb and 4gb and see what happens

I just upgraded from 4gb to 8gb and no problems still. Lion has been stable for me. The only thing I notice is when I click video sl tab the screen shakes for about a second. Other than that no USB drops crashes or anything.

Once again last night a perfect set. 9:45 - 2am. Using brand new Mac pro with Pre-installed lion os 2.3.3 . Not one USB drop , not one crash , no diss appearing waveforms. Nothing. Even tried to push it to try to get a crash and started messing with transition effects and still nothing . Anyway lion has been nothing other than stable for me. The only thing I can think of is I don't have a huge library. I Dj right from my hard drive. No external.

Turing down the buffer will do what exactly?
I have mine set at 50% (or 1gb).
will i get better performance by turning it down. I notice i get lag when playing ableton tracks and doing video efx.

yes you will... Nick from Inklen Advised me to do that... when you have the buffer turn @ 1gb... It's telling your computer to dedicate that much ram for VSL/ME which ever you use... which is not needed. turn it down and it should run smoother

Yep, he said that at the VDJC, I've always had mine low. He said only if you're looping long portions of video do you need the cache high.

Good to know. i dont loop anything over 8 beats so i cant imagine i need all that buffer
