post mixer channel mixer [for mic]

The 57s MAJOR flaw is the shared mic/aux channel. It sucks having to switch on/off everytime i want to do a quick shout. I only want to sound like CLUE (clue...clue...clue...) on purpose.
So I'm looking for a post mixer mixer, just for mics. I want to preserve the 57s clean audio, and i dont want/need extras.
Alesis multimix 6fx for $99 will do the job, and should add neglible noise to the output (unless desired of course). Its a good deal i think, but can i go cheaper by choosing a option with less features? If so, where can I get it, and will i sacrifice audio quality?
I suppose another cheap option wold be a footpedal for fx on/off.
thanks all,
AF

if you're simply adding additional mics then behringer makes pretty decent mic boards. i'm not generally a fan of behringer products, but i've always had good results with their small mic boards and gotten minimal or no noise from them. they're pretty cheap too. you can probably spend around $70 for one.

thanks for the advice. Also not a Behringer fan, but if they got what im looking for I guess it doesnt matter. I'm looking to do it for under $50 though; at the $70 price point, i would just as soon cop the Alesis (a name i trust) and live with the extra features.
Thanks again, any more opinions are welcome.
