Audition feature - a proper one!

..It would be so useful to be able to audition tracks within Scratch Live without having the hardware connected. Why? If you're anything like me, you're sometimes more than a little disorganised and don't get everything ready before you leave for the gig. That's what the three hour flight or train ride can be used for - checking and sorting your set for those who are too busy/slack to prepare properly in advance ;)

Doesn't have to be remotely fancy, maybe just a simple pop-down in the prepare or library window with the audio routed to the laptop headphone output. So simple but so useful.

I'm aware of the command-O (mac) way of opening files to listen to them, but try doing that 50 times in a row - it's a real hassle to keep switching between apps, and besides not all of my files are in iTunes anyway - it just gets confusing.

This is a simple request - developers please please! I guarantee I'm not the only one who could really use this.

You are not the first asking for it, if you had searched before posting you would had know this, always better to add your view to an existing thread if a similar thread already exists ;)

Anyway, no grief, check out 1.8 Public Beta - they have listend to our words, it has that feature.

...thanks for the reply. I did a quick search (maybe too quick) and I did see the same idea requested but didn't see anything about audio routing to the phones etc. Anyway good news that it's on the way. Betas are scary though - last week for the first time ever SL crashed on me in the middle of a set - how awkward is that. In the blink of an eye you become a total dork...

Duh! I can use the beta for auditioning and 1.7 for sets. No prizes for me today!

I get the feeling it's not gonna still be a beta for too much longer. The reviews on 1.7.4 were much more mixed, and it only stayed in beta a couple of weeks.
