Weird how you can't assign this. Instead of ctrl-f. On keyboard
Why not make it MIDI-mappable?

Are you drunk? ;)
Do you plan to enter the search string via midi? No. You enter it with a keyboard. If you enter it with a keyboard - why dont you press ctrl-f to jump to the search field? Do you really think you should press a midi button, then jump to the keyboard? Wouldnt it make more sense to stay at the keyboard?

and YES, i'd want to enter search via MIDI, you could do most everything else via midi.

So can you elaborate...
1. The way it is now:
You want to search for a song. You reach for your keyboard, press ctrl-f, to jump to the search field, then enter the search string via keyboard.
2. The way you want to use it:
You want to search for a song. You reach for your Midi controller, press a button (I think you dont want to use a jog wheel) to jump to the search field. Now you go away from your midi controller. You reach for your keyboard. Then you enter the search string via keyboard.
---
Which one do you think is more efficient?

no. 2 cuz my midi controller is right in front of me, and i'll be using it all the time...
the point is not which is easiest, it's the fact that there is a keyboard shortcut for it, and i'd like it to be midi assignable
i do understand that YOU dont care for this but others may
