i hate it to switch programs or bringing more equipment to the club only for kicking some samples.
would be good to have a build in jingle-player, where you can assign mp3-files to some keys. maybe you can use the [caps lock] for activating the jingle-mode and then i can kick my samples and press [caps lock] again. The keyboard sends different codes for a holded shift and the caps lock, so it don't cause a chaos with the existing shortcuts.
So the people only need a rca-cabel to connect the laptop to the mixer and for some jingles the quality of the build in soundcard is good enough.

I think you might be waiting a while ;-)
I for one would actually hate to see Ableton-like stuff being incorporated into SSL.

Me too, the whole reason I bought Serato was because Ableton (for me) totally sucks.
I've tried hundreds of times with the prog, and played many shows with it but I just can't get away from the fact that it's totally LAME. Loop after loop mashed together with little or no flair - that's what I've taken from seeing various 'performers' using it.
Or, lo-and-behold, some DJ is using it to mix WHOLE TRACKS and calling it a 'live set' pfff.
I appreciate this is probably not a popular point of view (there's a lot of ableton nerds out there) but I really do hate that programme and what it's done to the dance music 'live' scene. It's been about as much help to the whole thing as Ketamine... :-(
