i played for 4 1/2 straight hours tonight with no issues except the random time change at 1am (jumps to 11 am)
djmoneyd425 9:35 AM - 28 October, 2007
but the answer to the leopard/1.8 question is yes, it works great....and no, no dropouts.
The Axledental DJ 6:49 PM - 28 October, 2007
I just did a "int" (internal) mix with using mid and my Denon HC4500 for 75 minutes and bluetooth was still turned on and there were no USB audio drops and no problems with my Macbook pro and Leopard 10.5. I was also recording the mix within SSL 1.8031 and used the auto-looping and phaser and flanger effects on my TTM57SL. All was good.
BriChi 1:56 PM - 29 October, 2007
Nice, I am actually tempted to put 10.5 on my pro now, I installed it on my IMac and my Macbook but I dj live with the Macbook Pro so I haven't installed it on that yet. I may tonight though and test all week before Friday night.
djmoneyd425 5:51 PM - 29 October, 2007
do it...there's nothing to be scared of.
DJDFECT 4:44 AM - 31 October, 2007
I had the preview player running today and I was fooling around with spaces, and I didn't get any hic-ups. Leopard seems to be pretty solid

that's weird. the exact same thing happened to me, but i'm still using tiger. must be a 1.8 bug.

bought a macbook with leopard and did a fresh install on my macbook pro. used both lappys for about 3 hours each and it was issue free. sometimes the usb light faintly comes on but there were no dropouts.
Dj Avgoustinos 9:08 PM - 10 November, 2007
hello all...I was completely new to mac until two days ago...I was reading all these months about the usb dropouts that Apples give and I was a little bit hesitant of buying one..I got one then...I played yesterday for five hours using Leopard and i dont know even what colour is the light that comes out when you get usb dropouts..absolutely PERFECT..cant understan why people accuse apples...I have a macbook version 10.5.1 2.2 intel core 2 duo and 2gb ram..hope my post helps people who are thinking of buying one...i am playing again tonight..so i will all keep you posted...
djmoneyd425 11:15 PM - 10 November, 2007
all you gotta do is switch your serato usb to the other port....easy fix
Dj Avgoustinos 7:18 AM - 12 November, 2007
Latest update..I played for another 5 hours last Saturday and Leopard with my MACBook runs perfect!

Ok guys I've just upgraded to Leopard. On top of that I've started to use an External drive to host my itunes library, updated SL to 1.7.4 ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

Since then I've had 4 complete freezes. All sound output stopped. Any else had this prob? and what do you think it's more likely to be, Leopard or the External HD. I thought SL bufferd each track from the drive first so can't see how it could be the drive.
BriChi 6:20 PM - 12 November, 2007
Try copying a bunch of tracks to the local drive and see if it still freezes, this will eliminate if its the external causing the issue
DJDFECT 7:22 PM - 12 November, 2007
I've had some freezes, but thats with 1.8. 1.74 and leopard have been solid for me. I havent taken leopard live yet though, i'm still not ready for that. Leopard crash's all the time for me while I am doing other stuff, not serato. I'm thinking of reformatting anyway..I have noticed the USB light goes on alot more than it used to with Leopard. Any reason for this?
Deejay Z 2:51 AM - 13 November, 2007
Ive been using leopard exclusively with 1.8 and its been rock solid stable....Live for many hours at many events with an external FW drive and a 57SL
Mark Allan 10:44 PM - 14 November, 2007
Thanks BriChi. Thankfully I've got an emergeny itunes library stored on the local drive still just in case so I'll stick with that for now and see how leapard holds up.

Wish me luck

Also silly question.. 1.8???? For pc or Mac? Am I the only one who hasn't got it?
